Developed by Korean Masters, Taekwondo has been an Olympic event since 2000. International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) and World Taekwondo Federation (WTO) are two bodies which promote this art at international and Olympic level respectively. Taekwondo techniques generally include kicks, blocks, punches, and strikes, with somewhat less emphasis on grappling and holds. Between these techniques a practitioner relaxes the body, and then tenses the muscles only while performing. This all was explicitly visible during the championship.
