Scholarship Distribution Function held at GNDU

Amritsar, April 14, 2015: A Scholarship Distribution function on Monday was organized by Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council (Regd.) with the association of Sikh Human Development Council (U.S.A) at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Guru Nanak Dev University. Professor A.S. Brar, Vice-Chancellor of the University was chief guest of the function.

B.S.Sekhon, President of Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council (Amritsar unit) welcomed the guests, faculty, students and their parents. He has specially praised the achievements of Guru Nanak Dev University under the guidance of Professor A.S. Brar and also congratulated him for attaining “University with Potential for excellence” with very good score again during the recent NAAC evaluation held in 2015.

Harbhajan Singh, President, Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council, New Delhi has emphasised the role of Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council and Sikh Human development Foundation U.S.A) and also discussed the various projects through which these organizations are supporting the needy and poor students throughout the country. He congratulated the students who have passed the test and interview conducted by the organisation and finally received the scholarships. He has also suggested the students to convey the message of Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council to other needy and poor students who wish to study.

Professor A.S.Brar congratulated all the students who received the Scholarships on this occasion. He has appreciated the role of Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council and Sikh Human Development Foundation for supporting the poor students in the country. He has explored that how he has started his study from village level and achieved the goals through hard work and determination. He suggested the students to do hard-work for achieving valuable education and become good person in the life and also help other needy and poor students. He has informed to the audience that the university is also helping the needy and poor students through fee concession on merit basis.

Tirath Singh, Incharge, Computer Centre of the University has performed the duty of stage secretary in the function. A large number of eminent personalities Prof. B.R.Batra, Prof.Jagroop Singh Sekhon, Prof. Gurupdesh Singh, Dr. Kavita Kahlon, Jagjit Singh Walia, Dr. Rajesh Kalia, Dhanpreet Singh, Manmeet Singh, Kulwant Singh, Teachers, Officers and  employees of the university were present in the function.
