Noida, December 18, 2016: Public transport in Noida-Greater Noida is set to become convenient and safe following the flagging off of JBM CITYLIFE premium buses by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri. Akhilesh Yadav today. These true low floor buses have been rolled out by Noida Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. JBM buses are equipped with all modern features like Real Time Passenger Information System (PIS), Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS), Automatic Bus Vehicle Location System, CCTV cameras, public address system and panic/stop buttons

The JBM CITYLIFE buses shall ply on 6 routes within Noida and Greater Noida. Real Time Passenger Information System shall keep the location of the bus updated for the passengers inside the bus and also at the Bus Queue Shelters (BQS). A 24X7 helpline number - 18001800555has also been provisioned for the convenience of the passengers. Information and update on buses can also be accessed through WhatsApp number – 9868394969. Safety features such as CCTV cameras have been installed inside the bus that will aid in uninterrupted surveillance of activities inside the buses. In case of emergency, passengers can use the panic/stop button to alert the driver to stop the bus.

Addressing the current issue of very high pollution levels in Delhi-NCR, the carbon footprint of the JBM CITYLIFE buses is very low as they run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), which emits significantly less pollutants than diesel or petrol. The buses are fully air-conditioned and have unique features like uniform low floor and folding ramp so that passengers on wheel chairs can board and de-board with ease. The buses kneels 60 millimeter to enable boarding of old and differently abled passengers, children and women wearing sarees, a first-of-its-kind feature in public transport buses in India.

CITYLIFE buses are manufactured by JBM Auto Ltd., part of India’s leading automotive player JBM Group, at its state-of-the-art plant in Kosi, Uttar Pradesh. The buses have 40 seats with provision of a wheel chair. The structural design of seats allows20% more space for people standing in the bus as compared to other low floor buses. The passengers can also stand and move around at the rear of the bus, with no restriction from the roof.

JBM Auto has designed the buses keeping in mind Indian traffic and weather conditions. Safety features include monocoque structure to ensure maximum strength and minimum weight, matching European standards for safety in case of front/side collision and rollover accidents. Additional safety is provided through five large diameter detachable cylinders with an automatic valve close in case of leakage. The CNG capacity of the buses is also higher at 900 litres compared to 700 litres of the existing buses on roads currently. Additional safety is provided as the valve of CNG cylinders automatically closes in case of any leakage.
