Shimla, September 20, 2016: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh while addressing public meeting at Taklech in Rampur Sub-division of district Shimla announced Sewerage Scheme for Taklech and assured that if sufficient place was provided a Bus stand would be opened at Taklech. He also announced Ayurveda dispensary for Khul Panchayat and up-gradation of Veterinary dispensary Taklech to Vet hospital. He directed the IPH department to lift water from Seri Nallah to Badi, Dhara,Chiksa and Dansa Panchayats as soon as possible for which the funds had been provided to the department.
He formally announced opening of Sub Tehsil for Taklech as was decided in Cabinet and said that a Police Station would be shortly opened at Taklech the construction of which was underway. The Chief Minister said that all the villages of the State would have sewerage system in a phased manner.
The Chief Minister said that crop diversification and protective farming are the thrust areas of the State Government, as agriculture provides direct employment to about 60 per cent of total workforce of the State. A sum of Rs 111.19 crore was being spent under Dr. Y.S.Parmar Kisan Swarozgar Yojana, he added. He said that farmers are being provided 85 per cent project assistance for construction of poly-houses. He said that Rs 154 crore Rajiv Gandhi Micro Irrigation Scheme was also being implemented for providing drip irrigation facilities to the farmers. He urged the people to produce off-season vegetables and grow flowers. “We need to lay stress on agricultural sector as diversification pattern would help raise the economy of the people and moreover we should not part-away with our land holdings”, said Shri Virbhadra Singh.
The Chief Minister said that all the villages had been connected with three phase electric lines and the Government was committed to connect all the villages with motorable roads. He said that Development was a continuous process and Himachal had progressed a lot since its formation. When Himachal was formed there were only 288 kilometres of roads in the State which now were 37000 kilometres. He said that over 1640 km new motorable roads and 160 bridges have been constructed during the last three and a half years of the present Government and 306 additional villages have been provided road connectivity. There were merely 91 Health Institutions in the State which were now 3856, he said. The educational Institutions particularly schools have crossed 15500 figure, the literacy percentage which was 4.8 percent in 1948 was 88 percent as of now. He said that the per capita income at present was Rs. 1,30,067 which was Rs 248 in 1948.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated IPH office building cum residence of SDO, Irrigation and Public Health at Taklech in Rampur completed with an outlay of Rs 48 lakhs. He also laid foundation stone of Examinations centre and Auditorium of Rajmata Shanti Devi Memorial Government Senior Secondary School at Taklech to cost Rs 2.38 crore.
Chief Minister said that under Rampur IPH division, 809 habitations had been provided drinking water facility besides 251 hand-pumps had been installed and 360 schools under Rampur IPH division had been provided drinking water facility. Apart from this, a target of irrigating 100 hectare land has been fixed for year 2016-17.
He said a sum of Rs one crore was being spent on the renovation of Sharai Koti temple and road, similarly Kranglaa temple which was urgently requiring renovation was provided adequate funds. He said that the government has no dearth of funds for repairs of temples of the State. A sum of rupees one crore had been sanctioned for renovation of Hatkoti temple, he said.
He announced a sum of Rs 15 thousand for promotion of art and cultural for Government Senior Secondary School and a sum of Rs. 10 thousand for Primary School, Taklech.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Shri Nand Lal also spoke on the occasion and detailed about the development activities in Rampur. He thanked the Chief Minister for paying extra attention towards the constituency and ensuring its speedy development. He thanked Chief Minister for announcing Taklech as Sub tehsil.
Ms. Pawana, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Taklech also welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for providing Sub-Tehsil status to Taklech as decided in the recently held Cabinet meeting. She demanded Sewerage Scheme for Taklech and upgradation of Veterinary dispensary. Various Mahila and Yuvak Mandals of the area also welcomed the Chief Minister.
