Haryana Government restores water supply to Delhi

Chandigarh, February 24, 2016: Haryana Government has restored the water supply to Delhi, which was earlier interrupted due to damage to the Carrier-Lined Channel (CLC) of Munak Canal near village Garhi Bindrauli during the recent agitation.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Delhi is currently being provided 700 cusecs of water through Khubru Head. Apart from this, water is being supplied from the Yamuna directly to the water treatment plant at Wazirabad in Delhi.
He said that the work to repair the damaged part of the canal was being carried out by the Haryana Irrigation Department at a fast pace and it would be completed within the next 15 days. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
