Lohri Dhiyan Di celebrated in premises of PCM S.D. College for Women

Jalandhar, January 12, 2019: Our college celebrated Lohri festival organised by the Youth club in collaboration with Fly Udaan Zindagi Ki Trust. The event commenced with Saraswati Vandna. Shri Surinder Mahajan threw light on the relevance of the festival. Students of the Music department reminisced the rich culture of Punjab by singing folk songs. Chairman Shri Pankaj Mehta gave his warm wishes on the day. Advocate Vikram Sharma laid stress on Women Education and Empowerment as to how women can serve as a model for an ideal society. Students set the stage on fire with their lively performance at Gidha and Bhangra. A dance show was presented by 'Om Sai Ram' Fitness and Dance studio. Miss Punjaban competition was held on the same day where in Poonam was awarded the first position, Akanksha second, Mehak third and Manmeet fourth. Shri Parvinder Ji (Spinal Cord Injury Association) was the Chief guest. Shri Vardan Chadha (Blood Association Member) was the Guest of Honour. Shri Rakesh Mahajan (Chief Editor), Nidhi Bhatia Beri, Mrs. Harsh Gupta and Mrs. Neeru Jairath were also present. A holy bonfire was ignited towards the end of the event and sweets were distributed among all.
