A lecture on the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at PU

Chandigarh, April 9, 2019: A special lecture on the eve of Baba Saheb Dr.B.R.Ambedkar on ‘Contextualizing Dr. Ambedkar’s Teaching with Reference to Neo-liberalism and Social Justice’ by Prof.Ronki Ram, Panjab University here today. The special lecture was organized by the Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP, Panjab University), Chandigarh. Prof. Ronki Ram ably elaborated the philosophy and vision of Dr.Ambedkar on liberalism on social justice and categorically said that Ambedkar’s idea on social democracy and liberty, equality and fraternity are the edifice of his whole philosophy of social justice, and caste could only be annihilated if social democracy and fraternity is ensured. The presidential address is remarked by Prof. Rattan Singh and he asserted that father of Indian Constitution – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision incorporates social and constitutional morality. Baba Saheb being one of the tallest and intellectual personality of the world drafted one of the most beautiful and rational constitution of the world which ensures social justice to all and helps making India an egalitarian society. Prof. Emanuel Nahar, Director, CSSEIP welcomed the distinguished guests and emphasized on the wider impacts of Ambedkar’s ideas on the socio economic and political development of India. Vote of thanks is given by Dr. Kanchan Chandan. A number of honorable and distinguished professors, research scholars and students attended the special lecture that helped them in enhancing and enlightening their knowledge about Dr. Ambedkar’s vision and ideology and its relevance in contemporary era.
