ICSI organized investors’ awareness program at Dharamshala 

Dharamshala: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organized an Investors Awareness Program at Dharamshala on Friday. Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur attended the program as the Chief Minister. Thakur said that the main objective of the awareness campaign is to create awareness about savings and investment.
Thakur said that this campaign was done for investors and account holders, which is very important. “If people are aware then they will know what are the fraud schemes and where to invest, where not to do it”, said Minister.
The Union State Finance Minister Anurag Thakur said that effective steps for better investment has been taken by the Modi government at the Centre and the youth are also being motivated to invest. Anurag Thakur said that 37 crore seventy lakh new bank accounts have been opened as a result of the efforts of the Modi government. Rupees cards have been distributed to 40 crore people whereas earlier master cards of foreign companies were used.
He said that now the rupay card has reached the poor man, the country is moving towards digital revolution. He said that digital payments have been encouraged and the target of making the country five trillion economy by 2025 has been set.
Thakur said that the first state-level program was held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and the second one was done in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. He said that such programs will be organised across the country so that people do not get trapped in the fraudulent scheme.  People will be made aware, minister added.
In response to a question about the nationwide citizenship amendment law, Anurag said that some people focus on their politics than the country. He asked that those who have been tortured and forced to convert in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and are in India for years, should they not get citizenship?
This law of Modi government should be welcomed, he added. He said that some people are splitting up the public and provoking people. Anurag pleaded that public should not be get confused because of these leaders. “CAA is a law to give citizenship to people, not to snatch it. The propaganda against it should be stopped. The media has played an important role in making people aware, “said Minister.
In response to the question asked to raise the issue in the interest of Himachal in the budget, Anurag said that the Finance Ministers and CMs of every state are requested to suggest about, what should be done for their state. But now PM Modi himself asks for suggestions from people across the country. The appropriate found suggestions that people make will be included in the budget. This time too, the budget of the people will be made and presented.
