GOVERNMENT OFFICES NOT VACATED IN FEROZEPUR

FEROZEPUR, JULY 26, 2017: Though, the state government had ordered all the government department to vacate all rented building by June 30, there are more than dozen such offices which are being run on the rented building in this border district due to lack of appropriate arrangements.

An official from the meteorological department, which was shifted few days ago from rented a building to a room at the Industries department, revealed on the condition of anonymity that there are several offices which have been waiting for the relocation. “There is no place where the offices can be shifted. We were paying Rs.10,500 p.m on the rent for the previous office building. We had five rooms and now we have just one room to work and one room which can be used as a store”, said department official.

A senior official from the Provincial branch said that more than a dozen applications are still pending but the administration has no space to setup new offices. “When the building of District Administrative Complex was constructed, all the departments were asked to provide accurate details and their requirements. However, most of the department did not provide the correct detail due to which such situation has arise.

When contacted Ramvir, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur said that most of the buildings have been vacated and very soon the rest of the buildings will also be vacated.
