Ludhiana, November 28, 2017: Carrying forward the initiatives taken by the Sh.Kahan Singh Pannu, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board to reduce industrial water usage in Ludhiana, today a meeting was taken by Pardeep Gupta, Chief Engineer, Ludhiana with the office bearers of various Dyeing Associations of the city. In the meeting, the industry was sensitized about the grim scenario of depleting underground water situation in Ludhiana due to continuous injudicious abstraction of ground water and the impending implications of the same. An appeal was made to the industry to cooperate with the officers of the Board in their initiative to reduce water consumption in their processes by taking various water conservation measures. In the meeting, various strategies to handle the problem were discussed and experience of various successful entrepreneurs who have adopted water conservation measures was shared. The industrialists present in the meeting lauded the pro-active approach as well as efforts.
