Five day Short Term Course on “Recent Trends in Networks, Communications and Security” organizedby GNDEC
Ludhiana, January 28, 2019: The recent developments in the wireless communication field have inspired the researchers and technologists to have further understanding of networks, communications and security related issues. The performance of application based technologies is assessed through certain performance attributes of communication technology. The design of energy efficient protocols with prolonged coverage as well as security of already established network are key aspects of modern wireless based communication technologies. In order to understand these technical challenges in the light of basic knowledge from academia, the QIP sponsored course on “Recent Trends in Networks, Communications and Security” started on 28th January. This course has been organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering, at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana from 28th January to 1st February 2019. On the inauguration day of course, Prof. L.K. Awasthi, Director, Dr. B.R.Ambedker National Institute of Technology,Jalandhar motivated the participants through his benign presence and expert talk. The Prof. Awasthi emphasized on the importance of emerging trends in the field of Networks, Communications and security. He focused on fundamental understanding and designing of thebasic attributes of various security issues in cloud computing. Sharing his view on this occasion, Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Principal,GNDEC, also appreciated the importance of new trends in communication technology as need of the hour. He emphasized on minimizing gap between industry based technical challenges and academic research /developments. He has motivated the participants to add up their knowledge through interaction with experts. Dr. Parminder Singh HOD, Computer Science and Engineering Dept., also shared his views. He mentioned broad aspect of recent trends in communication, security and networks areas. He thanked Prof. Awasthi, Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Heads of various departments, QIP co-ordinator and participants for attending this course. Prof.Amandeep Kaur Sohal ,co-ordinator of course welcomed the participants and also outlined about the course curriculum.At last Prof. Manjot Kaur extended the vote of thanks to audience.
