Chandigarh, November 10, 2015: The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has thanked Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi for chalking out 2 day programme on 26 and 27 November concerning passing of constitution and role of Dr.Ambedkar in its making.
The Chairman of the Commission Mr.Rajesh Bagha while welcoming the decision of the Modi government, said that the Punjab SC Commission had written to the central government to celebrate the occasion of Dr.Ambedkar’s prominent role in the making of the constitution of the country and the passing of the constitution, acting upon which the government of India prepared 2 day national level programme. Mr. Bagha said that Dr.Bhim Rao Ambedkar, known as the father of the constitution, was a great scholar and would always be remembered for playing a yeoman’s role in framing the constitution.
Demanding the naming of Central University Bathinda & N.I.T. bathinda after Dr. Ambedkar, Mr. Bagha said that numerous people of India belonging to the SC category are deeply connected with the ideology of Dr. Ambedkar. He said that Dr. Ambedkar ensured the welfare of all the sections of society while framing the constitution which resulted in the uncountable number of people belonging to the SC category and weaker sections joining the national mainstream. He added that Dr. Ambedkar provided political, social and economic stability to the country besides uplifting the life standard of people hailing from SC and weaker sections and orphans.
