Chandigarh, November 9, 2015: The Punjab Government is implementing the Indira Awaas Yojna in the State on 50:50 basis with the Centre Government for the year 2015-16. In the current financial year amount to the tune of Rs.34.76 crores has been provided or the same.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Government of Punjab said that during this financial year 2511 houses have been constructed under this scheme, out of which 2034 houses (81%) are for the beneficiaries belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
He said that under this scheme people belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Below Poverty Line families living in Kaccha Houses, are provided Rs. 70,000 grant for construction of house and Rs. 15000 for the repair of house.
