Jalandhar, November 3, 2012: An ex-servicemen rally was organised by Army as part of  celebrating  “year of the veterans” at  Rayya (Beas), yesterday.

This rally was conducted by Beas Military station.

Veer Naris were also attended the Meet.

A total of 402 ex-servicemen and 55 Veer Naris attended the meet from adjoining areas.

Station Commander Military Station Beas, welcomed the ex-servicemen and Veer Naris and expressed the concern of the Army in alleviating problems being faced by them.

He emphasised the ongoing efforts being pursued by the highest echelons is the Army towards according due recognition and facilities for personnel who had selflessly served the nation.

The Station Commander interacted with the Veer Naris, keen to learn about the development on important issues which had been flagged in the recently organised Veer Nari Meet early in August this year at Beas.

With the singular aim of reaching out to the ex-servicemen and Veer Naris the function received a handsome response vis-à-vis the grievance, banking, placement, pension and agriculture cells which were established for the duration of the meet.

The forum also highlighted important guidelines issued from time to time by the Army Head Quarters on aspects of CSD facilities, medical benefits, schemes on placement of wards/widows of martyrs and assured decent last rites scheme.
