DC REVIEWS PREPARATIONS OF SHAHEEDI MELA AT HUSSANIWALA BORDER ON MARCH 23
Ferozepur, March 19, 2019: The deputy commissioner Mr Chander Gaind on Tuesday reviewed the preparations of ‘Shaheedi Mela’ in Hussainiwala border on March 23. During his visit to the border, Mr Gaind convened a meeting with the officials at the site and issued directions to make adequate arrangements to facilitate the people. He said that 12 special trains will be started on March 23 from 9 am to 6 pm from Ferozepur city to Hussainiwala border so that people can part take in the annual fair being organized in the memory of Martyrs Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev who got martyred on March 23, 1931. Mr Gaind directed Ferozepur Punjab roadways GM to arrange the buses from Ferozepur to Hussainiwala. He asked PWD and Police department to provide temporary parking arrangement near the site for the smooth flow of the traffic on that day. A control room will also be set up in the fair besides the medical teams, ambulances will also be stationed there, he said and added that facility of drinking water will be also ensured in the fair. The deputy commissioner said that two speakers will be installed near the Sutlej bridge in which the patriotic songs will be played. He ordered the PSPCL to ensure uninterrupted power supply on March 23. Public Health Department has been asked to clean the pond around martyrs ‘memorial, he said and added that officials from Agriculture, family and health welfare, animal husbandry, horticulture, Markfed, Forest, MilkFed, Industry and others will set up their own stalls in the fair. Mr Gaind said that the office of Divisional Railway Manager to erect a large size hoarding near Hussainiwala railway station to inform the public about the pristine history of Ferozepur as in the past, the trains also use to go Lahore and Peshawar. He asked the officials to discharge their duties with complete dedication to make annual fair successful. On the occasion, ADCs Mr Ravinder Singh, Mr Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu, SDM Mr Amit Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Mr Ranjit Singh, Civil Surgeon Mr Rajinder Kumar and others were present.
