Jalandhar, March 3, 2016: aDAVitya 2016, a 2-day national level annual technical festival was inaugurated today at DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar with great gusto and aplomb by the Chief Guest Mr.Ankush Minocha, Global Recruitment Head, WIPRO Technologies. Sh.Habibulla, Deputy General Manager and Sh.Shapoorji Pallonji were the guests of Honour on the occasion. Mr.Anmol Kalsi, Director, NIC, delivered the key note address on digital India.
As per the DAV tradition, the inaugural function began by the lighting of the pious lamp.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET showered his gratitude towards the Chief Guest Mr. Minicha for sparing his valuable time for the event. He stated that the bond that the institution shares with WIPRO is unmatched as it was the first company ever to come for bulk placements. He assured that the bond will continue in future also. He further highlighted the fact that our country is progressing by leaps and bounds and very soon we will be joining the elite group of developed countries. He stated that the transformation to the status of a developed nation the youth brigade has to come forward and shoulder the responsibility. He urged upon the students to make the best of entrepreneurial opportunities available in the country. He stressed upon the fact that now are exciting times to be in India and be an entrepreneurs in the field of IT. He highlighted that the world sees the final product of DAVIET in the form of recruits in different companies but now is the time to realize the hard work that goes into making a true DAVIETian. He welcomed all the guests to witness the grooming process through which DAVIETians go during the two day tech fest.
Dr. Sanjeev Naval, Head, Department of Civil Engineering and Convener of the Tech Fest welcomed the chief guest and the dignitaries. He introduced the TechFest to all the present and highlighted the role played by such Techno Cultural Extravaganza to develop the overall personality of the students. He brought to light the fact that aDAVitya-2016, a two day techno cultural fest has around 100 events lined up categorized under Management and each department of engineering like CSE, IT, Mechanical, ECE, Civil, EE and miscellaneous events under the categories of literary, fun, arts and many more. To keep the students abreast of the latest in their respective fields, workshops have also been organized. Students from more than 20 educational Institutes like GNDU, DAV University, Mehar Chand Polytechnic, CT Institute, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, APJ Institute of Management and Technology, St. Soldier College, Giani Zail Singh College etc. have got themselves registered for aDAVitya-2016
Mr. Anmol Kalsi gave a key note address on Digital India. He highlighted the importance of digitalizing India. He shared various examples from real life to show what the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is. He stressed the fact that every department should be digitalized to ensure better transparency.
Sh. Surinder Seth talked about the fact that DAVIET stands for hard work, dexterity and every DAVIETian should strive to excel in their respective fields. Sh. Habibulla talked about global competition and the need to step beyond their comfort zone to excel in life. He elucidated the passion for excellence. Mr. Arvind Ghai talked about balanced behavior for future growth.
Mr. Ankush Minocha shared relevant informative ideas with the students. He threw light on true leadership. He talked about four P model i.e. passion, potential, position and performance. He stated that thinking affects behavior. He discussed the law of reflection for growth. Further, he stated that people learn capability, skill and a lot by working in a team. He motivated the students to grow every day.
The function was attended by Mr. Surinder Seth, Mr. Avneet Taneja, Mr. Ajay Goswami, Mr. Arvind Ghai, Mr. S.P. Sehdev, Mr. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Principals from other institutions, Heads of Departments and faculty of DAVIET.
The Chief Guest inaugurated the BSF weapons display and Students’ Art Gallery. He declared the TechFest aDAVitya 16 open. After the captivating Inaugural function, various technical events started with great enthusiasm at different venues in the Institution. Various experts in the respective fields made the judgment of the events on the day. The performance shown by various teams was par excellence which was applauded by one and all.
