30 participants complete ICT based short term course at CT
Jalandhar, January 14, 2019: Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering (ECE & EE), CTIEMT under the patronage of CT Group of Institutions organized ICT based 5 days Short Term Course on Smart Grid and Distributed Generation Technologies in association with National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh. This STC was attended by 30 participants. During STC, the expert speakers from academia and industry deliberated upon the applications of ICT in power grid to realize a smart grid. Special sessions were taken on real time simulation of facts devices with the help of simulation software OpalRT. The course was organized under the guidance of Dr. Harjit Pal Singh, HOD ECE and Akshay Agnihotri (HOD EE), NITTR. In addition, the integration of renewable energy sources in grid, and the role of block chains and cyber security in smart grid were the major highlights of the course. The experts also discussed various research issues and guided the participants in their doubts. Manbir Singh, Managing Director congratulated all the participants on successful completion of the course and wished the very best to the participants. Dr. G. S. Kalra, Campus Director, Dr. Anupam Deep Sharma, Dean Academics and Dr. Vaneet Thakur, Vice Principal, CTIEMT graced the valedictory ceremony.
