Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo organising a special function which was in context with the celebration of New Year, Lohri & Maghi festivals. 

Talwandi Sabo, January 16, 2015: In order to create awareness about new trends and techniques in the fields of education and agriculture in the Malwa region, Guru Kashi University organised a special function which was in context with the celebration of New Year, Lohri & Maghi festivals. Sarpanches, Panches, Nambardars, social activists and dignitaries of the area thronged the auditorium.
The function started with ‘Shabad’ recitation by the students. Thereafter, Dr.Jagwinder Singh Jodha, Head, Deptt. Of Punjabi welcomed the guests. He stated that Guru Kashi University is not only an educational institution but, in fact is a dream of following in the footsteps of Great Guru Gobind Singh. He dwelt upon the objectives of the University to cater to the educational needs of modern era which is a Gate-Way to knowledge.
Dr. J.S. Brar, Prof of Plant Pathology and an eminent agricultural Scientist apprised the masses of the new techniques of agriculture. The students of the University presented cultural items of fun and frolic.
Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice-Chancellor, in his keynote address delivered illuminating notes about the objectives, policies and motto of Guru Kashi University and its contribution towards development of the State of Punjab in general and surrounding area of Malwa region in particular. He stated that the University was committed to ensure healthy balance between traditional and vocational education which was a priority for the University and to produce ideal citizens. The University also honored eminent journalists for their health and impartial contribution to social development. Certain fun-games were played and Groundnut-Rewries were distributed on this occasion. It was really a memorable function.
