YPS, Mohali's team with man of the match Trophy.
Panchkula, October 2, 2015: The second match of the 6th Wg Cdr S S Gyani Memorial Cricket Tournament 2015, was held at St. Soldiers’ School, Sec 16, Panchkula’s plush cricket ground. The match was played between YPS Mohali and Saupins School, Chandigarh.
The Toss was won by Saupin’s School, Chandigarh and they elected to Bat. Saupin’s batsmen put up 211 for the loss of 8 wickets in 25 overs. The main scorers were Manav 73 off 51 balls which included 13 4s and one 6. Atul made 52 runs off 33 balls with Four 4s and 2 sixes. Gurmehar scored a breezy 39 off 20 balls which included Five 4s and two 6s. YPS Mohali’s Ayush took 3 wickets, Pranshu bowled well to take 2 and Vipanjot took 1 wicket.
In response YPS, Mohali made 214/7 in 24.2 Overs thereby winning the match by 3 wickets. Vipanjot scored an unbeaten 93 off 59 balls and slammed 13 4 s and 3 sixes. Mohit scored 24 off 26 balls hitting One 4 and 2 Sixes while Ayush made 15 off 11 deliveries which included 2 sixes. Saupin’s Aryan took 3 wickets, Gurmehar 2 and Kanishka 1.
The Man of the Match was awarded to YPS Mohali’s Vipanjot for his unbeaten 93 runs and the one wicket that he took.
It is noteworthy that the first match was played between Pinegrove School, (HP) and Little Flower Convent School, Sector-14 Panchkula. This was won by Pinegrove. The schools that are participating in the tournament are hosts St Soldiers’ School, Panchkula, Pinegrove School, Dharampur, HP, Saupins School, Chandigarh, YPS, Mohali, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, The Gurukul, Panchkula, CLDAV, Panchkula and Little Flower Convent, Panchkula. Tomorrow on October 3 the match scheduled is between CLDAV, Sec 11, Panchkula & The Gurukul, Sec 20, Panchkula.
