Gujjarwal (Ludhiana), December 5, 2015: A state-of-the art Multipurpose "Sports Park" has come up at Gujjarwal village of the district. This "Sports Park" is first of its kind in the country and five sports can be played here along with facility of morning and evening walk for the village residents. Brainchild of Dakha MLA Mr Manpreet Singh Ayali, he has further promised 40 other such parks in his constituency, whereas work on 13 such is already underway.
     "It was around six months back that I was on a routine visit to the village and it was at that time the village youth urged me to develop a sports park which should have all ultra modern facilities," informed Mr Ayali while speaking to media persons. He said since then he was actively involved in the construction of this "Sports Park".
      This particular Sports Park has been constructed with government funds amounting to around Rs 50 lakh. A large part of this Sports Park was constructed with the help of labour through MGNREGA, due to which a large number of area residents got employment.
      Developed on 4-acres of vacant Panchayat land, this Sports Park have grounds for sports such as Volleyball, football, hockey, cricket and kabaddi, besides a dedicated 10-feet wide footpath for morning and evening walkers. Besides this, three canopies have been constructed so that village residents can spend their free time in good environment.
      Mr Ayali informed that sprinkler system has been installed, international standard grass carpet, fencing and special flood lights have been installed. From safety point of view for women, the sports park would be properly lit even at evening and early morning.
     Ranjit Kaur and Tej Singh, both residents of Gujjarwal, thanked MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali for developing this Sports Park in Gujjarwal. They said that earlier the residents had to go on the main road for morning walk, but now this Sports Park has proved boon for the entire village.
      He informed that this project would be replicated in the Dakha constituency in more than 40 villages and work on 13 has already started. He informed that work has been going on in Jangpur, Rurka, Pandori, Kular, Jodhan, Chaminda, Jassowal, Hans Kalan, Bharowal, Chak Kalan, Roomi, Chhajawal and Latala.
      Himself a national level Basketball player, Mr Manpreet Singh Ayali informed that Rs 20 crore would be spent on youth mobilisation through sports in next six months. He informed that 40 gyms in 40 villages have started in Dakha constituency. "In next few days, volleyball ground would be inaugurated at village Chak Kalan. All the development works in my constituency would be dedicated to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha," he informed.
      The formal inauguration of this Sports Park would be on December 10.
