Chennai, December 13, 2018: YourStory Media today held The Disruptors Award, an event to honour the disruptors of Tamil Nadu and to recognise the many change agents in our society. The event conducted at Crowne Plaza,Chennai, saw many prominent business men and start – ups partake in the ceremony.Through the #YourStoryDisruptors event, YourStory celebrated the achievements of each of the disruptors of Tamil Nadu and their stories of ambition, innovation, foresight, perseverance, and grit in different categories and fields ranging from entrepreneurship to governance to entertainment.
Disruptors are people who successfully challenge the status quo, take risks, and are not afraid to venture into the unknown and attempt something radically new or different.YourStory presented the Legend of Disruption award to Late Chinni Krishnan who brought about the sachet revolution in the country. His sons CK Kumaravel, CK Ranganathan, CKA and CK Rajkumar received Legend of Disruptionaward on his behalf. Many other prominent entrepreneurs were also recognized at the ceremony. The eminent jury that selected the disruptors of Tamil Nadu included SushilaRavindranath – senior business journalist, The Chennai Angels, Surendran of Success Gyan, Kavya Nair – Vice President ofAdvay Capital, Sanjay Enishetty – Partner 50k Ventures, and Dr.Palaniappan from Medway Hospital.
The event also witnessed a panel discussion followed by a presentation on Blockchain, the next disruption by BelfricsGroup, one of the leading global blockchain technology firm and crypto-currency exchanges having a presence in over 12 countries. Belfrics Founder & CEO Praveen Kumar and Chief Digital & Innovations Officer Santhosh Palavesh outlined the emerging role of blockchain technologists, highlighted industries that can benefit from the adoption of blockchain technology and spoke onBELRIUM, India’s first and only KYC-based blockchain solution.
