World Immunization Week observed at CMC

Ludhiana, April 30, 2019: College of Nursing, Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana observed “World Immunization Week” today on the theme Protected Together : Vaccine Work!. Mr.Sanjeet Johnson- Associate Professor and Ms. Nisha Singh-Clinical Instructor conducted the programme in Jamalpur Awana, Ludhiana under the guidance of Dr.Reena Jairus- Professor & Principal, College of Nursing, Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana.

Mr.Sanjeet Johnson unfolded the theme and expressed his views regarding Immunization and its importance specially under five year children. Seven killer diseases which are prevalent among these children can be prevented by vaccines which are not very costly and available at various hospitals & health centres. Immunization is the best way to prevent these diseases. BSc(N) Interns (Batch 2015) performed the Nukkad Natak and displayed posters on Immunization which were well appreciated by the gathering.

A video assisted teaching was given to parents of the admitted patients regarding importance and adherence to the immunization schedule and it's completion specially during 1st year of life. Bsc, MSC Child health nursing, and Msc medical surgical pursing participated in this event very enthusiastically. The program was organized under the guidance of Mrs. Premlata Prakash, HOD, Child Health Nursing Department and the faculty of Child Health Nursing Department.
