Workshop-Cum-Film Festival Event At DAV College

Jalandhar City, April 6, 2016: DAV College Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a workshop cum film festival under the convenorship of Vice Principal Prof V K Sareen and Prof Menakshi Mohan (HOD BJMC) The Chief guest at the inaugural session was Transport minister Punjab S Ajit Singh Kohar and Deputy Director General Doordarshan Mr Om Gauri Dutt Sharma.
Head of the Department Prof Meenakshi Mohan giving a warm welcome to all the revered dignitaries quoted "the BJMC department along with providing the theoretical knowledge , strives to impart practical knowledge and skills , and we keep on organizing such events so as to enhance overall constructive development and inculcate new learning techniques among the students .Principal Dr BB Sharma appreciated the attempt of organizing such event ,which is not only interesting but greatly informative . Such workshops and event lead to sharpening of the soft skills of the students, and I feel happy to see young budding journalists. I feel privileged enough with the presence of such honorable dignitaries amongst us and I am really thankful to the donation granted to us by our revered chief guest and I assure of its constructive usage”.
Chief Guest Punjab Minister S Ajit Singh Kohar inspired and motivated the students to keep moving ahead .He quoted "Journalism is like a mirror to the society, people look forward towards the society through a journalists eyes, his write-ups are considered the dire truth. It's the dire responsibility of a journalist to present a fair unbiased truth but today journalism has been erupted by commercialization. Today wrong things are being projected more rigorously and exaggerations are becoming a painful trend . I appeal to you all to endorse only good journalism so as to show a right direction to the society and it’s the sole responsibility of a journalist to support the right and condemn the wrong without any fear. Being with DAV College journalists I felt happy to see their self confidence and felt like I am talking to some experienced people. I want to congratulate Dr BB Sharma, and I want to convey by deepest sense of confession that I feel immensely proud at the prestige of DAV College Jalandhar and I assure the never ending success story of this institution”
Doordarshan Jalandhar Deputy Director General Mr Om Gauri Dutt Sharma while addressing the students quoted ' you need to pre decide and be proactive about your future aspirations, until and unless you know about your goals, you can't move ahead nor become successful and one should always strive to work hard and harder .Shri Rajinder Rajan (Direction expert) from Himachal had a constructive discussion about his directed films. In the workshop , regarding the making of a movie , special knowledge was imparted to the students regarding various message giving films and movies , their making , script writing , communication and dialogue , budgeting , various advertising campaigns for the educative films , commercial films , corporate films , entertaining films , comedy films etc , all the aspects were explained thoroughly to the audience . The camera managing , Editing , voice over , Audio dubbing and framing etc were illustrated to the audience in the ongoing workshop .Some students were made to speak up the dialogues too and we're explained about the technicalities involved in selection of makeup , costumes , hair styles and stunts .
And they were imparted knowledge regarding various aspects of being a part of the industry -the kind of persona one needs to hold, the voice quality one needs to possess, and knowledge.
At the occasion Vice Principal Prof V K Sareen , Prof Preeti Dhawan , Prof Jyoti Mahajan , Prof Arun K Singh , Prof Payal Sharma , Prof S S Randhawa were also present to grace the occasion.
