A Workshop on Cloud Computing being organised at IKG PTU Campus on Monday.
Jalandhar, November 2, 2015: In collaboration with IIT-Bhubaneswar Punjab Institute of Technology,Kapurthala (PTU Main Campus) organized a Two Days Workshop on Cloud Computingon 31st Oct to 1st Nov 2015. Students and faculty fromvarious affiliated colleges of IKG-PTU alongwith the students of PTU Main campusparticipated in the event. Corporate IT Trainers Er.VarunKumar & Er.BijenderSingh were especially invited for imparting hands on training to theparticipants whereas the workshop was supported by training partner AICRADS,Gurgaon.
Dr.AnirudhPratap Singh,Dean (Research,Innovation & Consultancy) IKG-PTU welcomed the participants &trainers. Trainthe Trainers the theme of the workshop given by Dr.Singh who inspiredall the participants to further disseminate their learnings in this workshopamong their colleagues. “In time of growth & digitisation of the societydata management has gathered immense importance including in the Governmentsector. The IKG PTU will be a path maker by taking this initiative as it isalready running Master’s program in Big Data on the campus,” he further addedin his address.
The aim of the workshop was toprovide practical training to the participants on emerging technology of CloudComputing which is a rapidly growing field in the sphere of InformationTechnology. The participants learnt the basics of Cloud Computing Technologies,Planning & Designing IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Implementing & Deploying PublicCloud, Community Cloud & Hybrid Cloud Google & Microsoft CloudServices.
At the end of workshop aninteractive competition was organized through which eight participants namely Harinderjit Kaur, Anika, Kanika, Guneet, Surabhi, Manishaand Reeta have been shortlisted who will contest in National level grand finaleto be held at IIT, Bhubaneshwar in the month of April-2016 where students fromvarious Universities & Colleges of the country will participate.
The workshop was co-ordinated byDr.VandanaNaithani(Assistant Professor) & vote of thanks was given byMr.Saurabh Sharma(Assistant Registrar)IKG-PTU. Among other faculty membersDr.Rajneesh Sachdev, (Head Life Sciences & Technology IKG-PTU) was alsopresent.
