Dharamshala, September 22, 2019: Sources reveal that Bollywood star Govinda is preparing to contest from Mumbai in the assembly elections to be held on 21st October 2019.
And, perhaps in the same sequence, he visited Mata Baglamukhi Temple on Dharamshala-Hoshiarpur road, 35 km from Dharamshala, late Saturday evening and special tantric puja in the Temple.
The information about Govinda’s visit to Shaktipeeth Bagalamukhi's was kept secret.
Mahant Rajat Giri, chairperson of the Bagalamukhi Trust, headed the puja ceremony of superstar Govinda. Mata Bagalamukhi is one of the very few temples of India where goddess is worshiped especially to conquer enemies. It is in history that Maharaja Sansar Chand Katoch of Nagarkot (Kangra) generally perform puja’s in this temple to worshiped Ma Bagalamukhi, with whose blessings he had won many wars.
With the arrival of former President of India Pranab Mukherjee at Baglamukhi, a new page was added to its history. Mukherjee is the first President of the country who visited and performed puja in this temple, on March 15, 2015. However in 1977, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi also performed tantric rituals in this temple. She then came back to power and again became the Prime Minister of the country in 1980.
Govind Ahuja, born 21 December 1963, better known as Govinda, is an Indian film actor, dancer, and former politician, known world over for his work in Hindi films and for his dancing skills. He has appeared in over 165 Hindi films. In June 1999, he was voted the tenth-greatest star of stage or screen in a BBC News Online poll.
Govinda, a member of the Indian National Congress was elected the Member of Parliament for the Mumbai North Constituency of Maharashtra, in the 14th Lok Sabha elections in 2004 by defeating Ram Naik of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
