Congress initiated development works stopped

Dharamshala, October 19, 2019: Former MLA of Dharamsala Mrs Chandresh Kumari has said that during the past 7 years of BJP government in the centre, no project for Kangra district and particularly of Dharamshala was sanctioned or cleared by them.
She added the Modi Government has pushed back all the development works of the area. Speaking at press conference here on Saturday, Mrs Chandresh said that though she belongs to Rajasthan yet after her marriage Dharamshala became her karm bhumi, so she has her full affection and love for this area.
Congress MP Mrs Viplove Thakur said, “BJP Government has created an atmosphere of terror in this by-election in Dharamshala. The government machinery is being openly misused in Jai Ram Government of the state. Employees are being threatened to be shifted to remote areas if not worked to get a win to BJP candidate in this election. There is a complete mum among the voters, which indicate a change and Congress is going to win this seat.
Ex-Minister and senior Congress leader in Himachal Mr GS Bali said, “The development works initiated during Congress rule in Dharamshala are totally seized, and no fresh plan or project was brought by BJP government in its 2 years rule till date. I clearly mention the names of Central University, the creation of its Campus is still hanging. The bus stand work, smart city projects and many other development projects are pending in the cold store.”
He said, “In the last general elections we lost this seat due to emotional voting by people due to Pulwama attack, but now this by-election is being fought on local issues like development, water drugs menace and price rise.”
Bali added the school children in HP are deprived off the school dresses, the merit holder students are not given laptops, there is no education policy and the biggest issue is unemployment. He added that the official employment figure has crossed 10 lakh mark in in this small hill state. He said that if anyone asks these issues, is being treated as “desh drohi”.
Bali said that there are heaps of waste all around Dharamshala as the state government has reduced/stopped funding Dharamshala Municipal Corporation because it has the Congress majority. “We have given around Rs.200 crore as state share to MC Dharamshala for Smart City project during Congress rule, but now BJP has stopped the funds for smart city project”, Bali alleged.
He said that BJP announced 56 new National Highways long back in HP and work has yet to start in any, reflects their baseless statements.
The Congress leaders said that the party is totally united and the public is sick of BJP rule and Congress candidate Vijay Inder Karan will win this by-election. Dharamshala will go to poll on 21st October and the result shall be declared on 24th October. The seat was previously won by Kishan Kapoor defeating Congress Minister Sudhir Sharma.
