Ferozepur, December 21, 2016: The 780 meter long bridge over the Sutlej near Village Kot Budha which will shorten the distance between two strategically important cities of Majha and Malwa, Amritsar and Ferozepur upto 35 Kms, was inaugurated today by Parneet Kaur wife of Cabinet Minister and MLA from Patti, Adesh Partap Singh Kairon. It is pertinent to mention here that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had laid the foundation stone of this bridge on November 11, 2011. However, the project was delayed due to shortage of funds.
Sukhpal Singh Nannu, former BJP MLA and Halqa In-charge, said that he has fulfilled the promise which he had made with the resident of this border region.
As per the sources, overall 46.20 Cr. has been spent on the main project while 13.98 cr has been spent for the approaching roads.
