Protestors raising slogans against a chit-fund company for allegedly duping their money at Ferozepur.
Ferozepur, May 16, 2016: Hundreds of people who became victim of a chit-fund company in Ferozepur, hold a protest following the arrest of company CEO.
It is pertinent to mention here that several people belonging to this border region, who had invested lakhs of their rupees in this company, had been holding protest in the past and demanding the arrest of its CEO and other members. Yesterday, the police arrested the company’s CEO from Uttar Pradesh. He was produced in the court today from where he was sent to two days police remand.
Meanwhile, the agitated people demanded stern action against CEO and other employees of the company. Few of the agitators alleged that CEO enjoys close proximity with several political bigwigs. One of the protestors alleged that the police are also trying to save the Chit-fund company in-charge.
Manminder Singh, SSP, Ferozepur said that the police will deal with a firm hand with the arrested CEO of the “fraud” company. “We are hopeful that several revelations will be made by CEO during the arrest”, said SSP.
