Ludhiana, October 17, 2014: United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has decided to launch an agitational programme for early and better wage revision settlement which includes early and better wage revision settlement, All India strike on November 12, 2014, 4 days zonal strikes from December 2 to 5, 2014 and indefinite strike programme.
As per decision, United Forum of Bank Unions (Ludhiana Unit) held a massive demonstration infront of State Bank of India, Ludhiana.  Naresh Gaur, Convener, United Forum of Bank Unions,  Gulshan Chauhan, J.P.Kalra, (All India Bank Officers’ Confederation), D.C.Landra (NCBE),  Pawan Thakur, President, Punjab Bank Employees Federation (Ludhiana Unit) and Rakesh Khanna,  Associate Banks Officers' Association (State Bank of Patiala Unit) addressed the bank employees.
While addressing the bank employees, leaders of the Forum said that It is two years since they submitted their charter of demands.  While 13 rounds of negotiations have taken place, there is no satisfactory progress in the talks because of the negative attitude of the IBA/Government.  Everyone is aware that employees and officers in the banking sector are doing their best to serve the customers and implement various schemes of the Government despite innumerable hardships and difficulties.  Yet, the genuine demand for adequate wage revision is being delayed and denied.  Even though they have shown their willingness to adopt a flexible approach in order to finalise the settlement expeditiously, the same is not being reciprocated by the IBA.  Thus, once again, they have been pushed to the path of agitation and struggle.
Leaders of the Forum further said that it was also decided unanimously by the UFBU to withdraw all types of extra co-operation by workmen/officers with immediate effect and to boycott all meetings called for by the bank managements after normal office hours.  The meeting also decided against working on Sundays and other holidays. Relay Zonal Strikes are also going to be observed on December 12 (Southern Zone), December 3 (Northern Zone), December 4 (Eastern Zone) and December 5 (Western Zone).
