Chandigarh, March 15, 2015: The Punjab Government would organise Kisan Mela on March 20 & 21 at the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
Disclosing this here today Director Agriculture Punjab, Dr.Mangal Singh Sandhu, said that the government has provided financial and technical assistance to organise Kisan Melas, one each in Kharif and Rabi season. The focus would be laid to educate the youth to opt new techniques in the field of agriculture especially in remote areas with were agriculturally not developed. Proper training would also be imparted to the farmers, he added.
He also said that the Agriculture department would also organise similar Kisan Mela in the Regional Research Station at Gurdaspur and Bathinda on March 25 and March 27 respectively./ (Revised)
