Jalandhar, December 2, 2015: As a festival, Thanksgiving has a great historical and cultural significance all over the world. In its aim to prepare global citizens, CIS, Co-Ed, Chotti Baradari celebrated Thanksgiving Day.
The morning began with 'Turkey Song'. Teachers sang and danced for their students. The students of Grade I played the 'Thanker-chief' game wherein they offered thanks to the people close to their hearts.
The students of Grade II built a Thanks giving tree. They pasted hand shaped cut-outs onto the tree and wrote out thanks on them also mentioning their reasons for it.
The students of Grade III made paper turkey birds and head-gears in turkey shapes. They wrote out their thanks on the birds' feathers.
The celebration not only helped to inculcate and deepen the importance of gratitude and appreciation in children's lives, but it also enhanced their creative and artistic abilities. The day was so memorable that both the students and the teachers are already looking forward to the next year's celebrations.
Chairman Mr Ajay Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Mr Deepak Bhatia, Directors Learning Wings Dr Brijesh and Mr Nitin Kohli , Director CIS Mr J K Kohli, Academic Director Ms Deepa Dogra , Principal Ms Kiranjoth Dhillon and Coordinators Ms Harleen Rehal and Ms Jyoti Puri also enjoyed the celebrations with the kids.
