Winners of Annual Sports Day at Suncity School, Gurgaon.
Gurgaon, December 4, 2015: Annual sports day celebrations were held at Suncity World School, Gurgaon. This year Suncity School has completed its tenth year so the Sports day was held with much more fanfare and extravaganza. The children from standard V to XI participated in the various competitions. The School understands the importance of sports and accordingly the children here are exposed to best practice equipment under the able guidance of trained physio’s.
Major events were 200 &400 metres hurdle and hurdle free races for both girls and boys in different categories. Other than that there were 4*100 metres relay races for 3 categories and a 1000 meters race that was open for all. The spectators, comprising of parents and students, cheered the participants as they raced to the finishing line with athletic passion. Aryan Chakraborty and Ritik Yadav exhibited indomitable sportsmanship by wining gold in all events they participated in.
Speaking on the occasion the Principal Mrs. Rupa Chakravarty said, “We believe in the ideology of Swami Vivekananda wherein he has said that the youngsters should spend time on the football ground. Academic excellence is indeed necessary but at the same time we should not forget that a healthy body ensures a healthy mind.”
The program concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony wherein the sports enthusiasts were appreciated for their talent and skills. The Vote of Thanks was given by the senior students, who thanked the parent fraternity and the faculty for their unstinted support and encouragement.
