A Cricket match between Dikshant International School Staff Members’ team and Parents' team in progress at the DAV School, Sec 8, Chandigarh ground.
Chandigarh, December 13, 2015: On a pleasant Sunday afternoon, Dikshant International School, organised a Cricket match between its Staff Members’ team and Parents of Dikshant team at the lush green cricket ground of DAV School, Sector 8, Chandigarh. The match was held with an aim to further strengthen the relation between parents and school staff. Both the teams displayed a spirited performance however whistle blew with the Parents team emerging as winners, defeating Staff team by 33 runs.
Winning the toss and batting first, the Parents team put up 161 runs on the board in their 20 overs with solid contributions from Jasbir 34 and Deepak who remained not out at 33. The Staff team was bundled out for 128 runs by the bowlers of Parents Team. Mitul Dikshit, who is also Chairman of Dikshant International School, made 33 runs. Jasbir Singh from parents’ team was declared Man of the Match for his knock of 34 runs & for taking 3 wickets for his team.
“We thought that it should not be just Parents monitoring their child’s academic progress & attending parent teacher meetings; there should be some activity out of the school, which makes Parents feel that they are very much part of the education process of the School. This we try to achieve by organizing a sporty cricket match which has now become an Annual event, for further enhancing the School-Parent relationship.”
