Jalandhar, February 28, 2015: For the fifth consecutive year Sukriti-A Fashion Extravaganza, an annual feature at KMV was organised to give a platform to budding, fashion designers, stylists and future models. 

Mrs.Raj Mohini Sondhi with Mrs.Anuradha Sondhi and Mrs.Neeru Bhagat were the Guests of Honour for the occasion.  The other distinguished luminaries were Mr & Mrs Mayor, members KMV Managing Committee.  Also present on the occasion were Dr. Paramjit Ghuman and Dr.Sunita. 

Mrs. Rachna Monga Principal Sanskriti KMV School was also present.  The esteemed judges of the fashion show were renowned academician Dr. Rita Kant from UIFT Dept. of Punjab University Chandigarh. 

Mr. Vijay Kant Chawla owner (Pashmaya Brand) and Dr. Deepali Luthra a renowned gynecologist from Jalandhar gifted with both brains and beauty extra ordinary. 

The show was categorised into 11 distinct rounds.  The first round was that of contemporary cocktail dresses.  The alluring party wear gave the show a dazzling start.  The second round displayed white heavily embroidered Kalidar Kurtas and skirts worn with churidars.  This was followed by a stunning kids-wear round all designed by students of M.Sc. F.D-II Sem.

The combination of royal white and golden gowns designed by B.Sc. F.D. IV semester IV Semester left the audience awe-struck.  It was then time for a round of popular, eye-catching western wear.  Hand-painted textile designed into costumes by beautiful creative eye of designer was the next on stage.  This was followed by a round of fuscon of Indian & Western dresses giving a taste of the best of both the worlds.  Kids Christmas wear, office-wear and apron round delighted the audience equally.  The show was concluded with a round of the African dresses.   A special mention is due to Mr. Amit from the B9 Saloon who has been associated with the show since its inception.  He has been responsible for the transformation of ordinary girls into beauty icons year after year. 

The official radio-partner for the day was Radio-Mirchi. Mr. Nitin Gupta and Mr. Deepak from Radio Mirchi registered their presence by enthralling the audience with their typical humorous style. Jaskiran of B.Sc. F.D. VI semester was adjudged as best designer while Gurpreet of PGDFD was declared best designer in Post Graduate Designer category.  Himani of B.Sc. VI Semester won the title of Best Model and was also declared best model by the team of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM as well.  Rajveer Sanga student of PGDFD was declared best model in the PG category.  African scrap mania round was chosen as the best round design by the Under Graduate Department of Fashion Designing while office wear round was declared the best round in PG category.

Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Atima Sharma said that such events were live exhibits of the entrepreneurial skills acquired by talented & gifted young designers, stylists during their stay at KMV and that the show was gaining in stature & popularity every consecutive year.  She congratulated Head, Dept. of Fashion Designing Mrs. Harpreet Kaur & the faculty along with the students involved in the show for giving everyone an enthralling day.  She wished them all the success in future & said that the live feed-back received during the show was extremely inspiring.
