STRIKE BY BSNL employees enters day 2

Ludhiana , February 21, 2013: Strike on the call given by the Central Headquarters of various unions in BSNL entered in the 2nd day today.

Non Executive staff of BSNL after striking the work gathered infront of the General Manager BSNL office at Bharat Nagar.

The workers are demanding that the BSNL should not be disinvested and VRS should not be enforced in BSNL.

They are also opposing skyrocketing price hike, attack on public sector undertakings and violation of labour laws. The workers are also demanding universal public distribution minimum wages of RS 10,000 per month for the daily wage workers, bonus and pension for all.

Addressing the striking employees, S.P. Singh, Circle secretary, National Federation of BSNL Employees told that the strike vigorously all over the Punjab. He congratulated the workers of all the unions for joining the strike and making it glorious.

Avtar Singh Jhande, Assistant District Secretary, BSNL Employees Union Ludhiana told that in Ludhiana BSNL all the offices including cash counters, Customer service Centers, Mobile services Nodal centers were closed today.
