STATE level committee constituted to monitor/implement welfare schemes for minorities in Punjab

Chandigarh, July 10, 2013: The Punjab Government has constituted a state level committee to implement and monitor the welfare schemes for minorities.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson said that the 11 member committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Punjab. He said that the other members of the committee are Financial Commissioner, Rural Development and Panchayat, Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Principal Secretary, Finance, Principal Secretary, Home and Justice, Principal Secretary, School Education, Principal Secretary, Technical Education and Industrial Training, Principal Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation, Secretary, Planning, Secretary, Social Security, Women and Child Development and Chairman of Punjab State Commission for Minorities.

The spokesperson further said that the committee would meet at least once every quarter to monitor and review the progress of implementation of welfare schemes.
