Startup India Punjab Yatra Van reaches CGC Landran
Enthusiastic response from students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran, greeted the Startup India Punjab Yatra Van, an initiative of the Punjab Government in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. The project seeks to engage with and spread awareness about the start-up ecosystem as well as Punjab Government’s policy for start-ups—Startup India and Stand up India Schemes among the state’s educated youth. It endeavours to motivate them, promote self employment, help budding entrepreneurs to upgrade their skills and provide them support to set up their ventures/units under professional guidance. 300-plus students from CGC Landran have registered themselves to attend the boot camps on at IIT Ropar and GJIMT Mohali, on January 30 and 31, respectively. The camp will present the government’s initiative to promote start-ups, ideation workshop, idea pitching sessions and train the trainers workshop. The candidates whose ideas will be selected at the idea pitching sessions would compete at the Grand finale to be held on February 06. Welcoming the initiative Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran said that it would go a long way in encouraging youth to nurture and strengthen their entrepreneurial acumen helping them set up and sustain business ventures that could eventually provide a good impetus to the state’s economy.
