DC AND SSP CAMPS IN THE CITY TO MONITOR THE ENTIRE SITUATION

Phagwara, April 18, 2018: Due to the elaborate arrangements made by the district civil and Police administration, the situation was totally under control in the city in the aftermath of the violent clash between two groups here on Friday night.

The Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mr.Mohammed Tayyab and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr.Sandeep Sharma had been camping in the city ever since the tension had erupted. Both the officers today held detailed parleys with the Duty Magistrates and other officers of the Police and Civil administration to give necessary directions to them for maintain law and order in the city. In order to instill a sense of security amongst the people, the Police had been organizing flag march in the city daily.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration was firmly committed to maintain law and order in the district at all costs. He said that prohibitory orders have been issued in the city under section 144 of IPC to maintain peace. Mr.Tayyab warned the antis-social elements that no one would be allowed to disturb peace in the city and stern action would be taken against them.

The Deputy Commissioner said that situation was totally peaceful and under control in the city. He also appealed the people to not get swayed away by the misleading propaganda and rumours in the city.

On the occasion, the Senior Superintendent of Police Mr.Sandeep Sharma briefed the Police officials about the entire situation and gave necessary directions to them about the law and order situation. DC and SSP also visited the various parts of city and gave directions to the companies of state Police, BSF and Rapid Action Force deployed in the city.
