Ludhiana, October 10, 2016: Indian Institute of Architects Ludhiana Centre (IIALC) organised a seminar on Smart Building Materials. It was a part of four-day building material exhibition being held at Ludhiana.
Chief Executive Officer of Ludhiana Smart City, Ghanshyam Thori was Chief Guest on the occasion. Addressing the audience, he highlighted salient features of Ludhiana Smart City. He said, “Focus is using solar energy, using LED lighting for streets, landscaping and beautification of green and open areas”. He invited all the architects and builders to give suggestions for the betterment of the city.”
Surinder Bahga, Chandigarh based architect and nominated councilor of Municipal Corporation gave a presentation on ‘Smart Building Materials and Technologies’. He emphasized the need to use sustainable building materials which consume less energy in their production.
Sanjay Goel, Director Smart city, Ludhiana ha also spoken on the occasion. He said that this grand exhibition and seminar is aimed at creating awareness among masses and professionals about new materials and technologies available in the country.
Ar. PPS Ahluwalia gave the welcome address. He pointed out that all architects and engineers should work together to save the environment.
Yogesh Singla, Chairman of IIALC presented vote of thanks. Seminar was attended by more than 100 persons.
A Design Competition was also organized in the Exhibition today, in which students from Pinnacle Institute of Fashion Technology (PIFT), Ludhiana participated. Hitakshi Jain won the competition whereas second and third positions were bagged by Divya and Radhika.
All the students and teachers of the institute visited the exhibition and gained a vast knowledge of the new materials for Interior and Exterior in the market.
