V.P. SINGH BADNORE REMEMBERS NEK CHAND ON HIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 14, 2016: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri V.P.Singh Badnore while remembering, Shri Nek Chand on his birth anniversary (December 15) said that, Sh.Nek Chand has brought Chandigarh on the International Map of art and tourism, due to his iconic creation, Rock Garden.
The Governor said that the amazing work created single handedly by Sh.Nek Chand is one of the marvels of the world. People visiting the Rock Garden appreciate and pay tribute to Nek Chand’s aesthetic work. The Governor said that Nek Chand would be always remembered for his artistic, unique work of art acclaimed all over the world.

It may be recalled that India had issued a stamp and honoured him with the Padma Shri. Recognizing his work of art Australia had made a movie on the great artist while France published 500 – page book on the Rock Garden. Besides this, he received a number of other awards from across the globe.
