Ludhiana, October 5, 2015: The vibrant and energetic young students dressed in the traditional Punjabi attires tapped to the beats of the Pride of Punjab-the Bhangra to attract the youngsters of the college on the third day of the Panjab University Zonal Youth & Heritage festival Ludhiana Zone-A at the Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College on Monday. The auditorium was jam-packed to watch the Bhagra artists from various colleges participating in the youth festival today.
Moreover the bhangra artists performed up to expectations of students and judges. They enthralled the audience with their wonderful performances on the stage of the auditorium. Their performance was upbeat and enthusiastic to restrict audiences, management, staff and political dignitaries glued to their seats in the auditorium of the Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College.
It was followed by the spectacular Kathak dance performances given by the students of various colleges. The students were beautiful dressed up in the Kathak attires to win the heart of audiences and judges. The main attraction of the day was renowned comedian and Punjabi actor Jaswinder Bhalla who left the audience spellbound with his comic satires. From the students to the dignitaries to the management had a gala time listening to Jaswinder Bhalla.
On the day three, there were number of the bigwigs present in jam packed auditorium of the college. Dr. B.D. Budhiraja welcomed chief guest, Kamal Sharma, State President, BJP Unit. He performed the ceremony of lamp by the chief guest, Kamal Sharma. Addressing the students, he appreciated the efforts and participation of students in youth festival.
He furher stated that Bhangra is a symbol of rich Punjabi culture, prosperity, indomitable will and energy. This could be a medium of reinventing Punjabi Youth from the fatal drug menace in to the constructive main stream. The other main guests present on the day were Parveen Bansal, , Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Dean, Punjab Agricultural University, Students Welfare and Phool Chand Jain. The managing committee President, Vice President, Principal of the college, Shiv Mohan Sharma presented the memento to the chief guest as a mark of honour.
They also welcomed the special guest of the day Dr Jaswinder Bhalla who made the day more sparkling in the Youth festival. He said that these youth festival days would never come back again so make most out of it and enjoy every moment of it. The other guest of honour was Harish Rai Dhanda. He gave away the prizes to the winners of Bhangra. The youth went crazy for taking the selfies with the comedy actor Jaswinder Bhalla in college campus.
