Jalandhar, November 29, 2019: Satyamev Jayate Society, a social organisation, organised a awareness seminar in the M.G.N.Public school, Adarsh Nagar under the campaign “Say No to Drugs”.
On this occasion Pankaj Sarpal, President of the society said that if children are taken care of from young age, then they can be protected from the side effects of drugs.
Pankaj Sarpal further said that in the initial stage youth consume drug in fun or seeing the elders in the family or they use drugs under the pressure of someone in the parties / weddings but this fun goes further into drug addiction where it becomes mandatory for a person to take drugs. He said that the increasing trend of intoxication among youth can be due to various reasons like changing lifestyles, family pressure, family quarrels, excessive use of internet, lonely life, staying away from family etc. There can be so many reasons.
The society's chairman Kapil Bhatia said that If it is not stopped soon, then drug addiction will make our society hollow. He said that the Satyamev Jayate Society has been formed for the service of ‘Nishkam sewa’ and under campaign “Say no to drugs” we are going to various schools and organizing seminars on Drug de-addiction and he appealed to the citizens of city that all must contribute their maximum efforts in this campaign so that our society can be saved.
Dr. Sandeep Goel, Neurologist educate the children about the different types of drugs and how it causes harm to our body, through a power point presentation. He explained various type of remedies to avoid addiction and encouraged the children to focus on their education and health to contribute to the development of our country.
Pankaj Sarpal administered oath to children that they will not consume drugs and even If they see someone getting intoxicated, they will encourage him to get treatment from rehabilitation centre. He also asked questions from students and rewarded those who gave correct answers.
On this occasion Kanwaljeet singh Randhawa Principal, Gurjit Singh, Vice Principal, Manmeet Kaur counselor, Ajay Bhandari and other member of society Sandeep Arora, Gaurav Vij, Gaurav Bhatia, Rajesh were present in the seminar.
In the end, Vice Principal Gurjit Singh honoured Pankaj Sarpal and Kapil Bhatia and thanked him for the impeccable service in the society.
