Box office favourite, Rajkumar Hirani is now seen in the avatar of a mentor for an upcoming short film anthology - Shuruaat Ka Twist. Directed by Sanjiv Kishinchandani, Rajkumar has mentored the short film Bhaskar Calling featuring popular actor Delnaaz Irani alongside Shahriyar Atai and Kamil Shaikh.

Celebrated filmmakers such as Vikramaditya Motwane, Raj Kumar Gupta and Amit Masurkar have also mentored three other films in the anthology.

Speaking on this association, the director said, "Sanjiv and I go way back. We have worked closely in various films such as PK, 3 Idiots and Sanju. So when the Shuruaat Ka Twist project was initiated by HumaraMovie and Sanjiv wanted to make a film, I was more than excited to mentor him. He has directed ads earlier but Bhaskar Calling is his directorial debut in the short film space."

Bhaskar Calling is a comedy that traces a day in the life of a home loan sales executive trying to convince a Parsi gentleman to get a loan and the travails that follows.

Speaking on the mentor-mentee relationship, Hirani said, "Sanjiv inherently has a distinct sense of humour. I didn’t want to curb his style of film making. I guided him but also went along with his sensibilities. Throughout the making of Bhaskar Calling, Sanjiv has evolved in showcasing simplistic human experiences in exciting ways so the audience not only resonates with the emotions but also stays entertained."

Launching on 31st May, along with Bhaskar Calling, Shuruaat Ka Twist will feature films such as Guddu by Gaurav Mehra, Adi Sonal by Heena D'Souza, TAP TAP by Praveen Fernandes, Gutthi by Avalokita Dutt and Khauff by Hanish Kalia.
