Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari inaugurates newly installed modern and fully computerised machinery and equipment for the blood test at Vijayanand Diagnostic Centre in Ludhiana on Sunday.

Ludhiana, July 7, 2013: Expressing concern over the non-availability of clean and safe drinking water Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari has said that Right to safe drinking water is under the consideration of the UPA Government.

Tewari said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi UPA Government’s next step will be to provide safe and clean drinking water to the whole population of the country. He said, the government is considering to provide safe drinking water to those who cannot afford for RO system and to purchase distilled bottle water.

Tewari was addressing a gathering Vijayanand Diagnostic Centre in Ludhiana today. He said that the Govt. is giving top priority to the healthcare of the people and for this National Rural Health Mission and National Urban Health Mission is being implemented in the Country. He sought the co-operation of private sector, religious and charitable associations to contribute in the efforts of the Govt. providing best health facilities to the common people. He appreciated the efforts of the Jain community to improve the healthcare and education scenario of the Country. He said, there is a need to expand the health activities so that the people could get health services at a highly subsidised rate.

Earlier, Tewari inaugurated newly installed modern and fully computerised machinery and equipment for the blood test. He congratulated the organisers for this noble cause to provide best blood test facility to the people at a subsidised cost. 

Among others, MLA Surinder Dawar, DCC (U) President Pawan Dewan, Chairman of Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Sewa Sansthan Sikandar Lal Jain, President Suresh Jain, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sameer Dogra, Dr. Baljeet Kaur and Kashmiri Lal Jain were present.
