Vigilance Awareness Week being observed at Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana on Friday.
Ludhiana, October 30, 2015: Legal Literacy Club of Ramgarhia Girls College organised an event to mark Vigilance Awareness Week which is observed from October 26 to 31. Its theme for this year is “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance.”
S.Rupinder Singh, SSP, Vigilance Bureau, delivered a lecture on the importance of vigilance in our lives. College Principal, Dr (Mrs.) Narinder Sandhu, S.Ranjodh Singh, President and S.Jagtar Singh, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council, accorded him a cordial welcome on the occasion.
In his talk, S.Rupinder Singh emphasised that good governance can be achieved only with vigilant citizens and averred that in order to curb malpractices; one must have appropriate awareness about the System. The gathering listened to the lecture with rapt attention.
Dr (Mrs.) Narinder Sandhu said that it is pertinent to generate awareness among the youth in particular as they are the future of the nation. S. Ranjodh Singh observed that making the governance accountable and transparent is the need of the hour.
S.Jagtar Singh averred that preventive measures should be taken to curb corruption so that the government can run smoothly and for that, it is important for the people to have adequate awareness.
