Parul Sharma’s debut novel “Searching My Land” was recently released worldwide amidst literary luminaries at a literary carnival “Lit Experia” in New Delhi. The learned scholars from all over the country graced this occasion with their presence. The names include Sudarshan Kcherry, Nandini Sahu, Lily Swarn, Satbir Chaddha, Renu Mishra, Joie Bose, Madhumita Chatterjee, Sukriti Paul Kumar, Nandini Sen, Shantanu Bose, CP Surendran, Itishri Sarangi, Dr.Ajay Sharma and many more. Speaking at this occasion, Parul, an ambitious young boy from Jalandhar, said, ‘To bring life on pages was once a dream, now a reality. For this dream moment to happen, I have invested my everything- my head and heart, my learning, my experiences, my imagination, my emotions and myself as well. Further telling about the theme of novel, he said, “My novel “Searching my Land” is written on the most delicate and dynamic matter of heart, what we call Love. Falling in love is natural, isn’t it? It is such a miraculous feeling. Everyone falls for it. But the real challenge lies ahead. It is staying in love. And when staying in love becomes difficult? When staying in love gives you a hellish kind of experience? When you start hating that feeling called love? Then, where is the rescue? You try to come out of that relationship. And what happens when coming out of that relationship seems almost impossible? My novel is the journey from the Impossible to the Impossible possible”. “Searching my Land” has everything for the young generation and it will definitely touch the young nerves, he hopes so. And when asked about what motivated and inspired him to write a novel at an age of 28, he simply smiled and said, ‘experiences’. Parul Sharma is a teacher by profession and a writer by passion. He finds his ‘Happiness of the self’ in writing and he wants people to discover him in his writing. To add, he is a son of renowned Hindi novelist Dr. Ajay Sharma and he feels blessed to have those genes of writing in him.
