Ludhiana, May 18, 2018: A joint meeting of the district leadership of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and CPI (M) was held in the office of the CPI under the presidentship of Dr Arun Mitra.
The meeting discussed at length the programme details of the proposed rally by both the parties and their mass organizations to be held on 23rd May to expose the anti democratic and anti people policies of the Modi government.
Giving details Com D P Maur – District Secretary CPI and Com Amarjeet Mattu – District Secretary CPI (M) said that the latest events in Karnataka are an alarm bell for the democratic forces as the Modi government is all out to kill the spirit of secularism and democracy enshrined in our constitution. Their economic policies are playing havoc with the nation. These have to be thoroughly exposed and united peoples movements have to be launched to save the country. In this connection a "Pol Khol Rally" is being organized in which thousands of workers of both parties and their mass organizations will participate. The rally will be held on 23rd May opposite BSNL office, Near Bharat Nagar Chowk. Thereafter the protesters will march to the Mini Secretariat and hold a rally at the DC Office.
Those present in the meeting include Com Ramesh Rattan, Com Devraj, Com Jagdish Chand, Com Hanuman Prasad, Com Sukhminder Lotey, Com Chamkaur Singh, Com M S Bhatia, Dr Gurvinder Singh, Samar Bahadur and Manjit Singh.
