Rakesh And Friends (RAF) enthralled audience

Hyderabad, April 16, 2016: Rakesh and Friends (RAF), the only Indian band to perform at the 15th Cape Town International Jazz Festival, South Africa which was a tribute to Nelson Mandela today performed in Hyderabad at PEBL City.

This was the second event of the three month long 4th Season of Hyderabad Arts Festival.

The group rocked and the audience about 600 in number had no bounds to their joy for the mesmerizing performance.

“Rakesh and Friends (RAF)’ is a young group of extremely talented musicians.

Rakesh Chuarasia, nephew and disciple and flute maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia teamed up with Gino Banks, Satyajeet Talwalkar, Sheldon D'Silva, Sanjoy Das and Sangeet Haldipur to form Rakesh and Friends.

The nephew and disciple of Flute Maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Rakesh has undoubtedly made his mark as one of the finest young Flute Virtuoso. Rakesh brought about the initiative of extending the boundaries of his musical realm. He combined his understanding of diverse Indian musical gharana styles with world music styles through imaginative experiments.

The young brigade comprising genius Gino Banks on Drums, talented Satyajeet Talwalkar on Tabla, electrifying Sheldon D’Silva on Bass Guitar, soulful Sanjoy Das on guitar and sparkling Sangeet Haldipur on Key Board, led by ace flautist Rakesh have helped in giving wings to his flights of artistic expression.
