Punjab orders to appoint nodal officers for implementing reservation

Chandigarh, October 2, 2012:The Punjab Government today issued order to all its departments for appointing nodal officers with a view to provide requisite representation to the employees belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes in service through Reservation Policy.

The Official Spokesman said that the Welfare Department has issued written directions to all department heads, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, District and Session Judges, Sub Divisional Officers and Registrar Punjab and Haryana High Court in this regard. He said that the Punjab Government was fully committed to ensure the proper implementation of Reservation in the state.

The Spokesman also informed that it has come to the notice of state government that the reservation was not being properly implemented in some departments, that’s why the decision of appointing nodal officers has been taken. He said that now all the departments of Punjab Government would appoint an employee as Nodal Officer, whose complete details including full name, designation, telephone/mobile number and address would be sent to the Welfare Department.
