Ludhiana, October 2, 2012: Activists of Rajeev Gandhi Youth Federation, Punjab and District Mahila Congress Women Helpline under the leadership of the Federation president Varun Mehta and the Helpline chairperson Hemu Saggar celebrated Gandhi Jyanti with children at Vocational Rehabilitation Training Centre (VRTC) here today morning…
They garlanded picture of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi to pay their rich tributes followed by distribution of sweets and fruits among the children.
Speaking on the occasion, they asked people to follow footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi, so that they could be helpful in building a good Nation.
Both of them also interacted with City Air News. Mehta appealed to NGOs to celebrate birth anniversaries of big personalities with children at VRTC instead of holding big functions. They opined that people should visit VRTC on sacred occasions and apprise children about life and works of great personalities such a Mahatma Gandhi.
The Federations chairman Sunil Puri Shammi and others. including Punam Malhotra, Ashok Sarin and Jyoti Dang were present on the occasion.
